Ler em Inglês #2

Se você vai começar a ler em inglês, opte (obviamente) por livros de nível fácil. Aqui vão umas recomendações:

*Diary of a Wimpy Kid: 

Essa série já foi lançada aqui no Brasil como Diário de um Banana, e é uma leitura que eu recomendo fortemente para aqueles que irão começar a se aventurar a ler na língua inglesa. É um livro voltado para todas as idades e que possui inúmeras ilustrações que deixam a estória ainda mais hilária. Aliás, esta é uma boa palavra para se descrever essa série: hilária. O vocabulário do livro é bem simples e de fácil entendimento. Talvez você encontre algumas palavrinhas que cujo significado você desconheça, mas vamos combinar que essa é um dos principais motivos de se ler em uma língua estrangeira: enriquecer o vocabulário. Diary of a Wimpy Kid já tem seis livros lançados em inglês.

Sinopse:

*How to Train your Dragon: 

Esse é uma outra série que possui várias ilustrações, mas difere bastante da estória de Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Conta a estória de Soluço, uma criança vicking que tem que capturar e treinar um dragão que o acompanhará pelo resto de sua vida. O livro além de ser engraçado é cheio de batalhas e surpresas, e talvez seja voltado mais para crianças (digo “talvez” porque eu ADOREI o primeiro e o segundo livro da série).

Sinopse:

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is a truly extraordinary Viking hero known throughout Vikingdom as 'the Dragon Whisperer' ... but it wasn't always so. *Gone: 

Essa série não tem um vocabulário tão simples quanto às séries mencionadas acima, mas mesmo assim ainda é bem acessível. Quatro livros já foram lançados em inglês: Gone, Hinger, Lies e Plague.

Sinopse:

                           Acabamento de livros em inglês

Os livros em inglês (assim como em outras línguas) podem ser ou em paperback ou hardcover. Paperback é um livro de capa mole que não possui orelha. Por esse motivo, esse acabamento só é recomendado a leitores mais cuidadosos, pois estragam mais fácil. Já um livro em hardcover (ou hardback; nas livrarias brasileiras é denominado encadernado) é um livro de capa dura que, na maioria das vezes, possui uma sobre-capa. É bem mais resistente, e por isso dura mais.

Particularmente, para mim tanto faz se é em hardcover ou paperback, mas devo admitir que livros em hardcover são geralmente mais altos e ficam mais bonitos na estante. =)
